Here's a review I just saw that sums it up well for me:
Probably the best coffee shop in the Atlanta area. I've spent many hours there, reading or working on my laptop on the free and open wi-fi. It's become the default spot for meeting with my friends. The staff is fun, casual and knowledgeable, with craft and care put into every drink. The clientele covers all age groups and styles, from families with kids through students to a mature, educated crowd. The food is light and yummy, and I especially dig the nice, garlicky hummus. In the evening, the wine and beer starts flowing. The wine and beer lists are quite good and mutate with a few new offerings rotating in every season. There are regular wine tastings hosted at least once a month (I wish they would do the same for beer, considering some of
the nice selections they stock). There's live music almost every night, mostly acoustic on the small patio stage. Open-mic poetry night seems to be especially popular. I occasionally venture to other coffee shops around town, but Java Monkey is home.

I'm limiting this a little more than some past occassions. There's plenty of seating at JM, and they also can get full.
Salud
