Hey, why not get out and enjoy the morning at a great bookstore; have a nice cup of coffee, meet new friends, and enjoy the fall season. Nothing fancy, just a little get-a-way.

Come join us at the Lazy Daze for a relaxed end to the work week. On selected Friday nights this summer, Lazy Daze is sponsoring live music on the deck. They don't have the artist posted yet, but I'll update when they do. Regardless, though, live music at this great venue on a Friday night sounds like a winner to me! For those of you who aren't familiar with this place, Lazy Daze was voted number 1 Coffee House in 2007 by the IndyChannel. They state that they strive to give their customers more than just a delicious cup of coffee or tea. From their website: "We give everyone a place to come to and relax, converse with friends, read a book, or catch a live tune from a musician passing through town. When one walks into Lazy Daze, they find themselves in a bohemian/New Orleanish atmosphere that sits in the center of historical Irvington. The interior displays art from various artists who reside in and around Irvington. It is small, quaint, warm, and intimate seating around 15-20 people. The outside seating during the warm seasons allows for additional seating on a deck that is shaded by a large tulip tree. The aura of the coffeehouse takes on a village feel and all are welcome. The coffees that Lazy Daze offers are 40% socially and environmentally conscience, which entails coffees that range from fair trade, organic, rainforest alliance, and bird friendly. The remaining coffees are single origin, or in other words, estate coffees that are bought directly from the coffee plantations. As for our espresso, a slight sweetness is found because it is a lightly roasted bean called a Café Bella, which makes a smooth tasting latte, cappuccino, or any other espresso based drink. We also carry a premium selection of organic loose-leaf teas. For those who enjoy the world of tea, we have several black, green, and herbal teas to choose from. We also carry an oolong and a white tea for the connoisseurs. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to send us what you have to lazydazecoffeehouse@ hotmail.com. We are always open for suggestions, because it is our goal to give the best cup of coffee or tea that any coffeehouse could offer." http://www.lazydazec offeehouse.com Also, check out pics of past Coffee Meetup events at Lazy Daze in the Photo section of our site. Join us for a fun evening of coffee, music, and comraderie!!!

Come join us at the Lazy Daze! On selected Sunday afternoons this summer, Lazy Daze is sponsoring Acoustic Open Mic events, hosted by Rick Freeman, of the Spirtles. . I've never heard of them, or of him, but... what the hey! It sounds like fun! And for those of you with dinner plans, it's OK, the music ends at 5:00. For those of you who aren't familiar with this place, Lazy Daze was voted number 1 Coffee House in 2007 by the IndyChannel. LET'S JOIN THE 30'S & 40'S SINGLES and the INDIANAPOLIS CONCERT LOVERS MEETUP for a FREE CONCERT AT THE CARMEL GAZEBO!!! Every Wednesday through the summer a different group performs. Bring a chair, or blanket or both, a picnic dinner, and beverage, and join us for some social time and music. This week's group will be Brent Evans & Lost Luggage, a [center]"fresh and exciting sound! Their goal is to entertain and to take you on a nostalgic musical journey filled with memories and seasoned with a true passion for music." The concert starts at about 7:30 p.m. and last for 1- 1 1/2 hours. We meet early to get a good space, and so that we can all sit together. It also gives us time to visit before the music starts. We generally sit to the left of the sound mixer board area, as you face the stage, just down from the sidewalk. Look for me and for Maureen. Maureen's green Gator chair is usually easy to spot! If you can't find us call me at 294-4040. JOIN US FOR THIS FUN, RELAXED MID WEEK SOCIAL!

JOINT MEETUP AT RICKS BOATYARD!!! Jodi of the Indy Dating Group has invited us, and several other Meetups, to join them for a midweek social at Ricks Boatyard on the west side. Rick's is always fun, with their large deck overlooking Eagle Creek, live music, and of course, great food. What a great way to relax on a summer evening after work! Here's what Jodi wrote: "Guests of Rick's Cafe Boatyard are guaranteed to enjoy a unique and exciting experience while dining on the massive outside deck and bar, located next to beautiful Eagle Creek Reservoir during the summer; or during an intimate outing next to our elegant fireplace during the winter. Rick's Cafe Boatyard offers an expansive, yet delectable menu, guaranteed to excite the palate of anyone who dines here. Choose from fresh seafood, zesty premium salads, farm raised Hereford steaks, or hearty pastas." We'll see you there for a tasty and FUN evening!

FREE CONCERT IN THE PARK!!! Every summer Carmel, Fishers, and Noblesville all sponsor free outdoor concert series. This year Fisher's concerts are on Tuesdays, with show times starting at 7:00 and running until 9:00ish. And the one on the 23rd of this month is the always WONDERFUL cover band "Endless Summer". For those of you who are unfamiliar with the band "Endless Summer", they do a selection of popular music that spans some 40 years. But what is really FUN about this band is that they do a GREAT stage show, changing costumes and really creating a show for their audience. We'll want to be up front dancing and enjoying them for a lot of the evening, but we'll have our chairs and blankets to return back to, to visit and relax, so we'll get the best of both world. The place is always packed, so in the interest of getting a space big enough for all of us try to get there promptly at 6:30. Parking is plentiful, but it is spread out all over the government complex, so leave some time to walk from a potential distant corner of the property after parking your car. BRING camp chairs, blankets, picnic dinners, and beverages of your choice. Might I recommend iced coffee. Anything goes. You might want to bring cameras, as some of the things this band does are worth capturing on film. C-mon out and enjoy a fun summer evening!!!

After numerous complaints that the prepay is not working properly, we have waived the prepay requirement for this event. We have decided that those that have had trouble making the payment can respond yes and pay at the event. Please modify your response so that we can get a half way accurate head count. Gary Hardwick is hosting a hog roast and barn dance at his house on Saturday, May 30th. We are hoping to make this a joint meet-up with the coffee, wine, singles, and ISOF. There will be a $10.00 fee which will include the dinner, and music. This is a BYOB event. We are hoping to have 75-100 attend. If this event will work with your calendar we would love to have you join us. In the event we have any excess $$$ we will donate to the organizers of the meet-up's that participle in this event. We want to make sure that we have enough food and supplies for all. We recommend that everyone bring a lawn chair as we will have several bon fires going as well as corn hole and other games. Fun, Fun, Fun.

C'mon out to MoJoe's for some good company, coffee and conversation and take a break from the week! OK, technically Thursday is not MID week, but it's close enough! This is a trendy place close to IUPUI, and they were ready and willing to help us out a month or so ago when Urban Elements was unavailable for us at the last minute. SO, GANG, LET'S GIVE THEM SOME BUSINESS, AND THE PLEASURE OF OUR COMPANY!! MoJoe's has coffee, expresso, pastries, snacks, and a light menu consisting of salads and sandwiches. Also beer and wine, just in case the events of the day seem to call for a stronger conclusion. The manager advised me that we can bring in food if we want, that she's not sure that their kitchen can accommodate so many people. So, if you think you may want a hardier repast, by all means bring it. Otherwise, so that they might better accommodate our needs, if you are pretty certain you'd like to eat some dinner, let me know in your RSVP, so that I can let them know an approximate headcount for food purposes. We may also get our own abbreviated menu, just for us. We're kind of in planning stages right now, so I will update this later when we have the food details nailed down.
Parking at MoJoe's is readily available, as they have a lot in the back of the building. And they are open til 10:00, so if you can't make it at 6:30 don't worry about it, come late- just come. See you all there!!!
