There's a great Thanksgiving event happening on Tues, 11/25...we need more volunteers and donations!
http://www.feedingNYC... ************************ Founded by LivePerson CEO Robert LoCascio in response to the events of September 11, 2001, FeedingNYC hand-delivers Thanksgiving meals - complete with all the trimmings - to families associated with New York City organizations, including Women In Need, the Jewish Federation, Catholic Charities, the Domestic Violence Program and City Harvest. In our first year, we were able to help 40 families; last year 1,500 families gave thanks to FeedingNYC. And in 2008, our goal is to bring smiles to the faces and food to the tables of 2,008 families - approximately 8,000 people! To meet that goal, we're asking everyone to help in bringing a warm holiday season to less fortunate families throughout NYC. Here's how you can lend a hand: • Join us on Nov 25, 2008 to help assemble, pack and deliver meals. We'll be at Pier 60 in Manhattan (23rd Street and the Hudson River at Chelsea Piers) and offer several shifts, including an early-morning session that can have you back home or at work by 9 a.m. If you live in the New York metropolitan area, please consider volunteering in person as the Pier Sixty corporation again has donated their space for our work. AND/OR • Offer a fully tax-deductible donation of $35 to FeedingNYC. For the cost of what many spend on just the turkey, this amount will feed an entire family. Donating is easy and can be done online at the FeedingNYC Web site. While millions of Americans are busy having seconds, numerous families haven't even had firsts. With your assistance, we can ensure thousands of people are able to take part in this annual harvest festival. We hope to hear from all of you, thank you again for being part of what makes LivePerson special and wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks, Wai Lin http://www.feedingNYC... |
