Hi! Members of NY Coffee Beans and Tea Leaves Group,



Back in April (4/9) when I took over the reins from Jeannett, I?ve said we will reassess if the group goes on when my 3-months' subscription with Meetup.com is up on 7/21. In the past 3 months, a lot has happened. Here are the specifics -

1) We have defined Who We Are (see ?Our Home? and ?About Us? sections).

2) Since then, there had been membership adjustments. As always, people join and leave, which is not unusual. Well, the significance lies in people who chose to stay. We now have 290 members. Of which, 38 (13.1%) are new members who have joined after 4/9/2008.

3) 6 meetings have been held so far and participation rate rose by four times based upon RSVP.

4) During the process, this group?s RSVP policy was also established. A regular location was found and the supplies comprising 2 tea brew sets and more than 6 varieties of tea leaves have been collected.

What we are short of is really tangible contributions in the form of real dollars and cents to breakeven. Our fixed costs include venue bookings and ongoing consumables, so your participation in person is required to keep this group alive.



Also, I seek this opportunity to call those interested to step up as assistant organizer. Let me know before 7/18 (Friday). I will be informing meetup.com on my decision to either cancel subscription or continue on. Remember though, we are all unique and bring along with us our past experiences, culture and talents into this City.

Hi Members,

With the 6th month anniversary 10/9 less than 2 weeks away, I have decided to leave this group. I'd certainly look forward to meeting you at other groups and don't hesitate to say "Hi" or exchange a couple smiles next time we meet.
