Coffee & Culture in *NYC*

Hey Cupping Professionals/Newbies,

I'm happy to announce the second event of the year. I know I initially promised that the next event was going to be a cupping, but during the first event a fellow cupper suggested taking a little field trip to do a day of coffee and culture. Needless to say, I thought it was a great idea and plus, it would allow some of our members located in NYC to attend a CCS event!

Our destination is New York City! We're going to kick off the day at Chelsea's Cafe Grumpy with a coffee prepared from the infamous "Clover" machine. After enjoying a great cup of joe, we'll head uptown to MOMA for the culture portion of the day.

I know that some people are going to be hungry after Cafe Grumpy, so depending on what time we finish up there, I was thinking about walking down to the Chelsea Markets to get lunch. This might cut into our museum time. The museum closes at 5:30, so the other option would be to have lunch at the cafe inside MOMA (the top floor cafe is very nice!!!). I'm interested in getting your input on the matter, so I'm going to create a poll to take a vote. If you RSVP to attend, please take a few minutes to voice your opinion in the poll.

**LEAVING FROM STAMFORD or MEETING AT CAFE GRUMPY**
There are a couple of options in meeting for this event. For those of you who live in or close to Stamford, we will be meeting at 10 AM in front of the ticket window in the downtown Stamford train station and taking the 10:25 AM express train into Grand Central Terminal.

For those of you in the NY area, if meeting at Stamford station is too out of the way, you can meet us at Cafe Grumpy in Chelsea located at 224 West 20th St (between 7th & 8th) at 12 PM.

There is no fee to attend this event. In an effort to keep cost down for the group, I'm going to contact MetroNorth for their group rates and Grumpy to see if they can give us a group discount on brewed coffee/whole beans. As for the museum, I'm a member at MOMA, so the entire group will have discounted admission of $5 per person (regular priced tickets go for $20).
