Hello Future Cupping Professionals,
I am happy to announce that the second CCS cupping event is just two weeks away! Our next cupping will take place on Sunday June 24th at 10:30AM and will again be held at Napa & Co. in downtown Stamford!
Since we have some newbies to the group, as well as members who couldn't make the last event, we'll kick off the event with a brief introduction into the art of cupping, the senses, and cupping ediquette.
By popular demand, we will be introducing the use of a cupping sheet to aid us in our evaluations. There are many sheets used in the industry, usually varying by company and competition. Since this will be our first time, we'll start with one of the more basic sheets, making our way up to the more complex.
*There will be an attendance fee of $3 dollars per person. Initially I was going to institute this fee to cover the ongoing cost of sourcing coffee/supplies, but instead decided to pay for the coffee/supplies out of pocket and donate all the monies collected from the attendance to a coffee charity on behalf of the Connecticut Coffee Society.
The monies raised from this event will be donated to Cup For Education. For those of you not familiar with Cup for Education, they are an nonprofit organization who's mission is to build schools and provide education to children in poor coffee growing communities, a cause I firmly believe in and support. If you would like more information, you can visit their website at www.cupforeducation.org.
Also, depending on the number of attendees, a second event may be added to the same date, to increase the flow from coffee to coffee and make it a more enjoyable experience for all who attend. This will most likely be the format for future events until we find a venue big enough to house the entire group.
You know the drill. I will supply all the materials needed. The only thing you have to do is show up! Feel free to arrive 10 minutes early to meet and chat with some of your fellow members.
If you have any questions or need directions to the venue, please feel free to drop me an email. Looking forward to seeing you all and of course, some great coffee!
Cheers,
Donny
